Doves Do It Again

There are so many great albums coming out this April. It makes me so excited I almost don't care that my dog peed on my new area mat this morning... almost. Add Doves' new one to the April list. April 7th to be exact, on Astralwerks (one of my all-time fave labels)/Heavenly. Doves had me at Lost Souls, and although they've put out several records since, it's been a while since we've seen new material. In fact, they've been writing Kingdom of Rust over the past 18 months... (they could have created two human beings in that amount of time for crying out loud)... all shacked up indie-stilo in a farm house-come-studio in Cheshire. (That's England, people.)

The first single from the album, also titled "Kingdom of Rust", sounds unequivocally Doves, which in this age of over-experimentation-station is quite alright with me.

Happy times for us, the band has a May US tour planned. There will be a ticket pre-sale beginning Wednesday, March 11th. Go to for more info. (The secret password is: Jetstream.) Be sure to support these dudes!
